Efektivitas Aromaterapi Terhadap Burnout Perawat: A Systematic Review

Abstract

Perawat bertanggung jawab dalam menjaga keselamatan pasien, namun masih menghadapi beban kerja yang tidak bisa dihindari. Perawat yang mengalami beban kerja menyebabkan burnout yang dirasakan di tempat kerja. Aromaterapi sebagai salah satu cara efektif menurunkan burnout. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas aromaterapi terhadap burnout perawat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tinjauan sistematis, dimana artikel diperoleh melalui database ilmiah seperti PubMed, Clinical Key, Science Direct dan Portal Garuda yang dipublikasikan dari tahun 2014-2024 dengan menggunakan kata kunci aromatherapy AND nursing OR nurses AND burnout OR stress OR fatigue. 148 artikel yang ditelaah dan diperiksa, ditemukan 15 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria kelayakan.  Tema pada artikel ini yaitu: lima belas artikel membahas tentang jenis aromaterapi, dua belas artikel membahas tentang metode pemberian aromaterapi, dan lima belas artikel membahas tentang efektivitas pemberian aromaterapi terhadap burnout perawat. Aromaterapi efektif menurunkan burnout perawat. Penggunaan minyak esensial, terutama lavender melalui inhalasi menjadi intervensi non-farmakologis dalam menurunkan burnout perawat.

Nurses are responsible for maintaining patient safety, but still face unavoidable workloads. Nurses who experience workload cause burnout to be felt at work. Aromatherapy is an effective way to reduce burnout. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of aromatherapy on nurse burnout. This research used a systematic review method, where articles were obtained through scientific databases such as PubMed, Clinical Key, Science Direct and Garuda Portal which were published from 2014-2024 using the keywords aromatherapy AND nursing OR nurses AND burnout OR stress OR fatigue.  148 articles were reviewed and examined, 15 articles were found that met the eligibility criteria.  The themes of this article are: fifteen articles discuss types of aromatherapy, twelve articles discuss methods of providing aromatherapy, and fifteen articles discuss the effectiveness of providing aromatherapy on nurse burnout. Aromatherapy is effective in reducing nurse burnout. The use of essential oils, especially lavender, through inhalation is a non-pharmacological intervention in reducing nurse burnout.
